Heather (Cozzi) Aranda is a lifelong Jefferson County, Kansas resident, attending Jefferson West K-12. She obtained her BSN from Washburn University in 2005 (Magna Cum Laude), her MSN in Nursing Management and Leadership from the University of Southern Indiana in 2011, and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice with Family Nurse Practitioner from Washburn University in 2017.
She is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and maintains certification in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS. She is a member of multiple professional organizations including the nursing honor society Sigma Theta Tau (Eta Kappa-at-Large chapter), American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners, American College of Healthcare Executives, Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders, Kansas Association of Quality and Risk Management, and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (in addition to the Heart of America APIC chapter).
Her clinical areas of interest include rural healthcare, pediatrics, emergency medicine, weight management, mental health, diabetes, and overall wellness/preventive care. Other professional interests include quality improvement, leadership, advocacy, and patient empowerment. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and family, including many nieces and nephews, in addition to being an online adjunct faculty member for the Washburn University School of Nursing undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
Heather has been practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider at F.W. Huston Medical Center for over two years and offers extended hours to meet the needs of our community, including for primary care. She is a full-time provider, is taking new patients, and welcomes you to F.W. Huston! Her care philosophy is that she partners with each patient for his/her/their best health.
